Description

Significant planning and preparedness for how to deal with the large volumes of debris and solid waste generated by natural disasters can be carried out as part of disaster risk reduction measures. This presentation will detail key steps necessary for the development of a robust, community level and pragmatic disaster waste preparedness plan. The presentation draws on examples from Turkey, Kosovo, Bosnia, Indonesia, the Maldives, Pakistan, Gaza and Haiti.
