National report on the state of the environment of Georgia 2007-2009
This report analyzes the condition of the environment in the state of Georgia from 2007 to 2009. The paper is divided into eight sections: (i) section one addresses the socioeconomic factors which impact the environment; (ii) section two analyzes the air quality and climate change; (iii) section three addresses water protection, including the coastal waters of the Black Sea; (iv) section four gives an overview of the land resources and the natural disasters which impact the Georgian landscape; (v) section five encourages biodiversity through a discussion of hunting and fishing; (vi) section six broaches environmental risks such as chemical waste and ionizing radiation; (vii) section seven broaches the environmental impacts of economic sectors, such as transportation and agriculture; (viii) section eight summarizes the current environmental protection measures being taken in Georgia, as well as preventative measures such as education and awareness raising.
