PreventionWeb's scope

PreventionWeb's knowledge library covers disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk management (DRM), climate change adaptation (CCA), and disaster resilience.

The curated content includes replicable or scalable DRM projects and initiatives, enhances catastrophe risk understanding, showcases efforts to meet the Sendai Framework targets, and promotes DRR advocacy. Disaster response, relief and emergency management are covered as long as they are relevant to disaster preparedness.

PreventionWeb's key aims is to openly share intelligible knowledge and information about the nature of disaster risk, connect professionals, practitioners, researchers, and policymakers on the basis of that knowledge, and provide resources useful to evolve in the realms of civil protection, disaster risk management, emergency management, resilience and climate change adaptation.
