AIJ-JSCE joint international workshop on natural disaster mitigation
In the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake which claimed many precious lives and caused extensive damage to buildings and cities, it becomes increasingly important to reinforce mutual cooperation between architectural societies and civil engineering societies to reduce risk of natural disasters. This Workshop is a succeeding event of the International Symposium on Disaster Risk Management of Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE), which has been organized with support of World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) through Japan Federation of Engineering Societies (JFES) and Science Council of Japan (SCJ). Taking over the achievements of the International Symposium, this Workshop is organized as a joint effort of Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ) and Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE), and to be held during the period of National Convention of Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ), with the aim of improving international expertise on disaster risk reduction.
