About

In the context of marking the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction 2024, the Aston Crisis Management Centre has the pleasure of inviting you to the half-day event "Empowering the next generation for a resilient future" taking place at Aston University on October 30th (Registration starts at 9:30).

The Aston Crisis Management Centre is a research centre focused on the analysis of challenges faced by various stakeholders caused by crises, disasters and disruptions. Our purpose is to provide support and design solutions that can be relevant in practice whilst being academically rigorous. The purpose of this event is to promote discussion about the challenges and new trend in the area to promote resilient communities in the UK and globally. This year we have the pleasure of hosting talks from Ms. Tess Ewington (Deputy Head, Central Crisis Command at UK Home Office) and Mr. Filipe Louraço Costa (Director of Global Logistics & Supply at INTERSOS).

The event is completely free and lunch will be provided. Instructions about getting to the University are available here and detailed instructions about the venue will be sent to registered participants. Please register on the following link to book your place and feel free to invite any of your colleagues who may be interested in attending (booking is required as we have a limited number of spaces).
