Date

The Structural Engineers Association of Southern California (SEAOSC) will be hosting the second annual earthquake loss reduction summit. This is a precursor to the 'Great California ShakeOut' event that will be held on October 18th. As you know, there are several types of structures that are at risk and many stakeholders do not know what action can be taken to mitigate this risk. SEAOSC will be partnering again with other earthquake preparedness organizations in the planning of this event.

The goals for this event are to create a forum that will not only increase the awareness of seismic risk, but spur action. The sessions will stress the benefit of mitigation, highlight the role of structural engineers, and encourage synergy among the structural engineering community, emergency managers, policy makers and other stakeholders.
