Background: 

The seventh assessment cycle of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC AR7) includes a Special Report on Climate Change and Cities. The outline of the Special Report agreed by the Panel at its Sixty-first Session in Sofia, Bulgaria and the call for Coordinating Lead Authors, Lead Authors, and Review Editors is available. The Asian Network on Climate Science and Technology (ANCST) based in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia's Southeast Asia Disaster Prevention Research Initiative (SEADPRI-UKM) and the Singapore Management University are organising an online session to discuss means of advancing science in the Asia Pacific and engaging with the IPCC. Convened by the IPCC Co-Chairs of WG III on Climate Change Mitigation and WG II on Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability, the tentative programme is as follows:
