This program belongs to the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery's (GFDRR) Global Distance Learning Program on Natural Disaster Risk Management (GFDRR-NDRMP), a series of online courses designed to build competency in DRM practice globally. The NDRMP aims to raise the awareness of key stakeholders and enhance the analytical skills and professional knowledge of development practitioners in specific areas of DRM. Many of the courses administered by EMI have been localized with examples and case studies from the Philippines and other parts of the world.

Description

CCDR is a specialization course under the Global Distance Learning Program on Natural Disaster Risk Management. This four-week course aims at supporting the global agenda of managing the risks associated to climate change through increased knowledge and awareness.

It's an introduction to the science of climate change, including its effect on natural hazards. This course reviews the trends in magnitude and frequency of climatic extremes, and the changes in average climatic conditions. It likewise explores the linkage between disaster risk management and climate change adaptation, and outlines strategies, methods, and tools for integrated climate risk management.
