The presentation gives a snapshot on current research related to climate change in Bolivia. Christian Seiler, PhD candidate at  the Earth System Science and climate change group, will present methodologies and results for the Bolivian case on:

(i) comparison and analysis of all GCMs used in the 4AR of the IPCC
(ii) how to detect climate change from meteorological observations
(iii) regional climate change scenarios
(iv) modelling the impacts on the stability of ecosystems

These methodologies can provide crucial data for DDR as disasters are modeled with respect to ecosystems e.g. are related to disastrous fires, a crucial topic in the Bolivian lowlands.  The research is part of a Bolivian program for the adaptation to climate change, focusing on hydrological resources, biodiversity and agricultural production.
