Description: The aim of the Conference "Coastal Risks: Hazards, Stakes, Representations, Management" is to strengthen the knowledge and the understanding of coastal risks in terms of erosion and marine flooding. The conference is supported by the LABEX MER (Laboratory of Excellence) and the ANR (The French National Research Agency).

The conference's objectives are:

  • To bring together coastal risks experts (researchers, PhD students, managers) at the national and international level,
  • To present a selection of both disciplinary and interdisciplinary research projects on coastal risks,
  • To compare experiences and approaches used in various geographic contexts linked to particular forcings, both environmental and anthropogenic,
  • To promote exchanges between researchers working in different disciplines and to look at how to improve interdisciplinary research
  • To promote exchanges between researchers and coastal managers.

    The call for papers (abstracts) has been extended to December 16, 2013
