Coasts, marine structures and breakwaters 2009
The conference will address the design, performance, installation and maintenance of breakwaters, seawalls, jetties, piers and beach control structures. The latest material on the design and installation of the structures necessary to extract marine and wind energy around nearshore seas and coasts will also be convered.
Organised by the Institution of Civil Engineers, this event is an internationally recognised forum for forthright discussion with a strong emphasis on practical application and where advances, as well as areas of debate, are dully highlighted. Over 30 international organisations are supporting the conference, which will be the ninth in the successful breakwaters series.
Over 140 high-profile practitioners and academics have, subject to a rigorous process of peer review, being invited to present the most up-to-date case studies and research in the coastal engineering arena. Full papers will be made available electronically to delegates in advance to facilate and encourage informed discussion during the conference.
