This is a part of the project, "Facilitating the integration of tsunami warning by strengthening multi-hazard warning systems in SriLanka, Vietnam, Indonesia" supported by the American Red Cross.

Objectives

The objective of the workshop is three fold:

1. To share experiences and lessons learnt from the key components of the project;
2. To share practices and experiences of NRCS of project countries on the use of early warning information for effective response;
3. To discuss way forward to strengthen End‐to‐End early warning systems in the region.

Structure

The regional experience sharing workshop is structured into three parts over two days:

- Regional perspective on early warning systems ‐ project accomplishments and its challenges, ongoing initiatives by various institutions
- Country perspective and experiences, lessons learned and opportunities to strengthening early warning systems through stakeholder dialogue by the national early warning agencies of Vietnam, Sri Lanka Indonesia and the Philippines
- Feedback on the pilot testing of end‐to‐end early warning systems training manual by the national Red Cross societies of Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and the Philippines
