ICIMOD will open its doors on Saturday 12 March 2011 to young and old, specialists and non-specialists, information and fun seekers, alike. In-house and outside activities will present ICIMOD’s programmes and help celebrate this year’s UN International Year of Forests. There will be a mountain knowledge quiz with attractive small prizes to test your knowledge on mountains and climate change, documentaries on different mountain topics, demonstrations of innovative mountain technologies, and mountain products to buy at a variety of stalls. The Asia Pacific Mountain Network is collaborating with the British Council to discuss how young people can contribute to climate change adaptation through the sharing of stories, and schools will share their experiences in ICIMOD’s Herbal Gardens programme.
