IDDR - CABARET Project: Capacity Building in Asia for Resilience Education
The Environmental Hydraulics Institute of the University of Cantabria (IH Cantabria), in cooperation with the Global Disaster Resilience Centre of the University of Huddersfield (GDRC), is organising a meeting in the frame of the CABARET ERASMUS + Project.
The objective of the project is to increase disaster resilience among coastal communities and to improve multi-hazard early warning (MHEW) in Asia, through international and regional cooperation between Higher Education Institutes (HEI) in Asia and Europe, and among Asian HEIs themselves.
IDDR 2017 focus on Target B of the seven targets of the Sendai Framework, which aims to reduce the number of people affected by disasters by 2030.
During the meeting, special attention will be paid to the IDDR 2017 and the 7 targets of the Sendai Framework to raise global awareness to reduce exposure to disaster risk at the community level thereby contributing to saving homes and livelihoods.
