Asia-Pacific’s only event dedicated to the application of hydro-meteorology technology and data. It aims to help build social and economic resilience to the impact of extreme weather.

This year, InterMET Asia, in partnership with the World Bank and the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction & Recovery (GFDRR) is hosting a programme dedicated to the role of public – private sector collaboration in the modernisation of a significant number of national meteorological services to improve extreme weather resilience.

In the event top officials from no less than 18 member states of the GFDRR, including 11 from Africa and 7 from the Asia-Pacific, have now committed to attend InterMET Asia 2015.

A further 4 GFDRR members are expected to confirm their participation, and they will be joined by their counterparts from a number of other countries, including China, India, Japan, Korea and New Zealand.

The event will give the private sector meteorological technology and services companies the opportunity to meet potential clients and discuss their needs and requirements.
