The objective of the day is therefore to celebrate how women and girls are reducing their risk to disasters and raising awareness about the importance of Disaster Risk Reduction in development programmes.

The highlight of the day will be :

  • The signing and adoption of the children's charter.
  • The signing of the UNISDR certificate of commitment to disaster resilience.
