International disaster reduction day celebration - Bulgaria

Following the 2010-2011 world disaster reduction campaign, Making Cities Resilient: "My City is Getting Ready!" and the International Disaster Risk Reduction Day, 13 October, DG Civil Protection, Ministry of Interior, Bulgaria as a National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction is organizing Open-Day in Sofia to celebrate the event. The following activities will take place:

1. Presentation of the equipment and the vehicles of Civil Protection DG and an urban search and rescue operation demonstration.
2. Exhibition of children paintings from the International Competition "Mission Rescuer", organized by DG Civil Protection under the auspices of Council of Europe's EUR-OPA Major Hazards Agreement.
3. Presentation of the Aerospace Monitoring Center, part of DG Civil Protection.
4. Short movies and video clips on the topic
5. Information materials for the International DRR Day and the 2010-2011 World DRR Campaign, Hyogo Framework for Action, training activities in Bulgaria and other materials will be distributed.
