Joint UNECE/OECD Seminar - Fostering implementation of the sustainable development agenda for industrial accidents prevention, preparedness and response
The Seminar is organized jointly by the UNECE Convention on the Transboundary Effects of Industrial Accidents and the OECD Working Group on Chemical Accidents.
The main objective of the Seminar is to discuss how the work of UNECE and OECD on industrial and chemical accidents prevention, preparedness and response can contribute to achieving the sustainable development agenda, in particular the relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the goals and priority actions set out in the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015– 2030.
More specifically, the seminar aims to:
- Raise awareness of OECD and UNECE member States of the recent global commitments
- Provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and practice for implementing them
- Provide input to the future work of OECD and UNECE
- Inform the risk reduction community of the role of industrial accidents prevention, preparedness and response in achieving the global commitments

What's Included
The Seminar will take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia on 28 November 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Seminar will be held in the framework of the ninth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UNECE Convention on the Transboundary Effects of Industrial Accidents.
