Kenya: Celebration of the International Day for disaster Reduction at the Masinde Muliro University
Driven by the theme Women and Girls: the [in]Visible Force of Resilience, International Day for Disaster Reduction (IDDR) 2012 draws attention to what women and girls are doing to reduce disasters risks in their homes, communities, and societies.
The Masinde Muliro University is hosting a full-day event to celebrate the International Day for Disaster Reduction.

Session I: Pre-event
- Environmental exercise by MMUST students
Session II: Main event
- 10.00a.m - Assemble at Muliro Gardens
- 10.10a.m - Procession to MMUST Graduation Square led by MMUST Band
- 10.40a.m - Opening Prayer by (Rev. Mrs. L.E.A. Omwoha)
- 10.50a.m - National Anthem led by the MMUST Choir
- 10.50a.m - 11.50am - Entertainment by MMUST Choir, Chavakali Boys Sec.Sch., Lukala primary, women group
- 11.50am - Fire Drill led by the Kakamega Municipal Fire Brigade
- 12.20p.m - Welcome note by Dean, CDMHA (Prof. S.B.B. Oteng’i)
- 12.30p.m - Opening Address, Remarks and Minister’s Speech
- 2.00p.m - Vote of thanks by DVC PR & E (Prof. J.O. Shiundu), Closing Prayer, Lunch for Guests and Guests Depart at their own pleasure
