MCR2030 Sign Up Webinar: Building the Disaster Resilience of Cities in Asia-Pacific
Asia-Pacific is the most disaster-prone region in the world, and increasingly, those disasters are occurring in urban settings. Cities face multiple hazards that threaten their social and economic development, these include storms, floods, heatwaves, earthquakes, and of course, pandemics.
Co-created by 11 international organizations and city networks, Making Cities Resilient 2030 (MCR2030) is a global initiative that aims to help cities build their resilience against all forms of disaster. The initiative is free for all cities to join.
By joining MCR2030, cities in Asia-Pacific will have access to tools, guidance and capacity building to progress along the resilience roadmap:
- Stage A: Understanding their disaster risks
- Stage B: Planning against disaster risks
- Stage C: Implementing their plans to reduce risks and build resilience
Objective
This webinar aims to introduce the MCR2030 initiative, explain how cities can join to access services, and showcase the different ways cities have sought to build their resilience.
Format
The webinar will last 90 minutes and will be conducted over Zoom in English, with open registration.
