About
The webinar, organized by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), will focus on how Brazil, Colombia, and Jamaica have provided a lead in terms of coordinated urban resilience strategies. The forum will outline how these national governments have supported action on the ground led by sub-national authorities.
The three speakers will provide a snapshot of the urban resilience context in their respective countries. They will also outline how national leadership has enabled accelerated risk reduction ambition and action at the local level.
MCR2030 webinars support the implementation of the Political Declaration of the Midterm Review of the Sendai Framework, which was adopted by countries at the UN General Assembly in May 2023. MCR2030 is a global partnership that has mobilized 30 national governments and 1,710 local governments committed to strengthening disaster and climate resilience. The initiative is a ‘who’s who’ of partners with unmatched expertise and experience of supporting greater urban resilience.
