Modelling of floods

The course introduces current theory and practice of flood risk estimation and modelling. and provides hands-on practice with industrial standard software.

Different frameworks for flood estimation and modelling are considered, from statistical to simulation, from data driven to physically based modelling. These frameworks are then put in the wider context of flood risk management. Delegates will learn how to use industry standard flood estimation and modelling techniques. They will also learn how catchments and rivers are modelled for flooding and other purposes.
