October 13th: The international day for disaster reduction in Romania

October 13th – the International Day for Natural Disaster Reduction represents an opportunity to promote a global culture regarding the reduction of the effects of such phenomena.

In this context, the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations "Petrodava" of Neamţ County has decided to undertake, in cooperation with the Inspectorate for Education of Neamţ County, a series of preventive activities targeting people with disabilities.

Friday, October 11th 2013

All the Fire Stations of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations "Petrodava" of Neamţ County will organize the "Open Doors Day", inviting children with disabilities from all the non-discriminatory schools in the county. The activity envisages the presentation of the accessories on the fire-trucks, while offering the visitors the possibility to use them.

Organizing a cooperation field exercise with forces and technical means, based on the activity of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations "Petrodava" of Neamţ County, in cooperation with other components of the National Emergency Management System, and concerning the management of a fire emergency, involving a fire drill at the Non-discriminatory School from Roman, in order to familiarize children with the adequate behaviour and the practical aspects of fire intervention.

On the occasion of the International Day of the Visually Impaired - "White Cane Safety Day", the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations "Petrodava" of Neamţ County shall record on CDs rules of behaviour and other measures in case of various emergency situations, which will later be disseminated to visually impaired persons.

On October 15th 2013, at the City Hall of the Municipality of Roman, in cooperation with the County Organisations for the Visually Impaired, there shall be organized a training for the visually impaired, regarding behaviour in emergency situations. After the training, the CDs containing the rules of behaviour and other emergency measures shall be distributed to the visually challenged.
