The report "Global Infrastructure Resilience: Capturing the Resilience Dividend”, launched on October 4th, is a pioneering report developed by CDRI-UNDP. The Report presents a compelling economic, financial, and political imperative for investing in resilience, based on a new cutting-edge Global Infrastructure Risk Model and Resilience Index (GIRI). GIRI is the first publicly available and fully probabilistic risk model to estimate risk for infrastructure assets with respect to most major geological and climate-related hazards. It can enable governments to understand the contingent liabilities they face and can then inform the development of national infrastructure strategies and plans to reduce risk and strengthen resilience. Thus, this Report is placed at the service of governments, investors, and others around the world with an intention to further the dialogue on how to implement its key recommendations and deepening global collaboration towards the goal of strengthening infrastructure resilience. The report is accessible via the following link: https://cdri.world/gir

The webinar will serve as a knowledge-sharing and discussion space highlighting the purpose of the report, its methodology, and key recommendations.

Speakers include:

  • Gabriel Bernal, Chief Scientific Officer at Ingeniar Risk Intelligence
  • Kamal Kishore, Member Secretary of the National Disaster Management Authority of India and Indian Co-Chair of CDRI’s Executive Committee
  • Ronald Jackson, Head of Disaster Risk Reduction and Recovery for Building Resilience at UNDP
