The event represents an opportunity to promote an international culture with regard to reducing the risk of disasters. We would like to promote the positive stance of women and girls in order to encourage them take part in disaster management in a society where their skills and intuition are required. This international day aims to show that women and girls are not victims during natural disasters and that they can take part in the actions which men are usually involved in, like the management of disasters.

In our city, the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations will use an innovative idea to symbolize this international day: A graffiti on the wall that protects the bank of the river that crosses the city, that will remind people of this day.
