Saritsa Foundation has prioritized the importance of making hospitals and rural health centers safer from disasters about 14 years ago as envisaged by UNISDR and WHO.

Saritsa Foundation conducted an international seminar on the subject of Making Hospital and Rural Health Center safer from disasters at Bombay Hospital, Mumbai, India on 22 and 23 November 2010 where international experts and practitioners evolved policies and plans for implementation to protect hospitals and rural health centers in India.

Saritsa Foundation has been continuing its efforts to build capacity of health services, staff in urban and rural areas by conducting workshops for imparting knowledge and training for developing resilience.

Saritsa Foundation imparts knowledge and practical training to hospitals and rural health staff to look after themselves in disasters as well as provide health services facility to victims of disasters.

Saritsa Foundation in partnership with Nair Hospital of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai is organizing a workshop on 29 and 30th August 2014.

The objectives are –
1) To guide the participants to identify risks and learn to take care of the risks.
2) To raise awareness of the participants and build their capacity to prepare for structural and non-structural needs to protect and avoid failure of health services during disasters.
3) To practice live scenarios with mock drills and rehearsals.
4) To organize group competition to respond with developed skills with use of local resources.
5) To develop a check list to guide rescue operations when needed.
