Seminar: Gender, climate and disaster risk reduction management at the local setting

The seminar, organised by the Women Involved in Nation-Building (WIN), with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Natural Resources (DENR), aims to disseminate information on the Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), the Millennium Development Goal Goals (MDGs) and laws affecting women.

The event will also serve as a venue to present and share concepts and practices related to gender, climate change and disaster risk reduction management for newly elected officials, and to strengthen awareness on gender, climate change and disaster risk reduction management especially its impact on women in the community.

The event will also focus on providing avenues to discuss and develop localized plans on addressing issues on climate change and disaster risk reduction management for each local government unit.
