Third African drought and adaptation forum
The overall objectives of the Forums are to (a) facilitate practical exchange of promising practices on drought risk management and on modalities for mainstreaming drought risk reduction principles and practice into development activities at project and planning levels (b) equip participants through technical capacity building sessions and (c) create collaborative opportunities. The special theme for this year’s Forum is the significance of climate change to the challenge of development in the drylands of Africa. Additional themes covered in the Third Forum include a multirisk approach to management of drought cycles in Africa, and modalities for ensuring that best practices on drought risk management are mainstreamed into development projects, programmes and policies in Africa.
