UN Women & UNCDF: Invitation to a market dialogue - Digital solutions for rural women’s resilience to disasters (d4rwrd)
UN Women, in partnership with the UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and with financial support from Innovation Norway, is implementing a Humanitarian Innovation Programme that aims at tackling the challenge of enhancing the Resilience to Disasters of Rural Women in Haiti, Liberia, Malawi, Mali and Senegal by leveraging the potential of mobile technologies and other digital technologies to improve their access to both disaster risk reduction and risk transfer mechanisms.
UN Women and UNCDF are carrying out a market dialogue process to trigger a public stakeholder interaction and communicate the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Disaster Risk Financing and Risk Transfer related needs of women smallholder farmers in Haiti, Liberia, Malawi, Mali and Senegal. This market dialogue process also intends to identify the gaps in current technology, products and services offered for DRR and risk financing and transfer that are available to women smallholders. Through this dialogue, we also wish to initiate discussion on potential solutions to address the gaps and needs of women smallholder farmers using digital tools for disaster risk resilience.
Market dialogue webinars will be held on the following dates:
- Senegal & Mali: Tuesday 22nd June 2021 from 2:00 PM GMT to 4:15 PM GMT
