On this year’s International Day for Disaster Reduction: "Women and Girls: The [in]Visible Force of Resilience,” the UNDP Serbia is organizing a round table discussion at the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. The aim of the event is to open a public debate regarding the role of gender equality in disaster risk management, based on a preliminary study recently conducted in Serbia by UNDP. The study presents a gender based analysis of relevant legislation and policies in the area of disaster risk management, as well as consultations with key stakeholders in the area of gender equality and disaster prevention, preparedness, response and recovery in the Republic of Serbia.

The event is co-organized with the parliamentary Committee for Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality, as well as with the Ministry of Interior’s Sector for Emergency Management.
