UNESCO Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management for School Safety will take place from 24-26 March 2013. The workshop will focus on the three pillars of comprehensive school safety which are:

  • Safe School Facilities
  • School Disaster Management
  • Risk Reduction Education

Topics include:

  • Disaster risk reduction: A global overview
  • Regional overview: Feedback from the Arab States Platform, UNESCO video on cities campaign, DRR & Resilient cities: Current status
  • Presentation: Multi hazard risk assessment.

  • Management for school safety
  • Risk Assessment: Presentation from groups
  • Disaster Risk Management
  • UNESCO Natural Disaster Risk Reduction Programme
