This webinar will consider UN progress in supporting the implement the Gender Action Plan for the Sendai Framework (Sendai GAP) and looks at opportunities to accelerate implementation in 2025 and beyond. The target audience for this webinar is UN staff from country offices, regional offices and headquarters working on disaster risk reduction and resilience, and/or gender equality.
Objectives of the webinar
- For UN personnel to enhance their technical understanding of the Sendai GAP and its relevance to their work.
- For UN personnel to share good practice examples of implementing the Sendai GAP.
- For UN personnel to learn how they can support implementation of the Sendai GAP to accelerate implementation of the Sendai Framework and UN Plan of Action on DRR for Resilience at all levels.
Expected Outcomes
- Attendees will develop a stronger understanding of the Sendai GAP and learn to identify opportunities to implement the Sendai GAP in the mandates, programs and efforts of the UN entities they work with/for.
- Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of tangible ways the Sendai GAP can be implemented by UN entities at all levels, across the implementation of the UN Plan of Action on DRR for Resilience
