Objective

The workshop should provide a platform to share the experience of different groups in order to formulate technical and general requirements for future activities on Earth Observation based services.

The focus should be on the operational use of Earth Observation data in a real monitoring scenario rather than on new scientific results. The user community is called to indicate the technological gaps that may limit the full exploitation of EO data in the everyday monitoring practice; the developer community is expected to indicate the new operational features likely attainable in the near future.
A follow up of the conclusions of the first workshop, held in june 2005, with respect to possible new user requirements and recently launched sensors, is also welcome.

The final aim of the workshop is to gather all these contributions in order to synthesize the state of the art in monitoring volcanoes and seismogenic areas with EO data and to suggest future lines and perspectives.

Suggested Topics

- Current projects and perspectives of the use of EO data
- EO data in the user practice
- Science Advances towards operational use of EO data
- Integration of EO and ground based data
- EO data and information distribution policies

Workshop Organization

The workshop will be organized in thematic sessions followed by round table discussions with active interaction between presenters and the audience. A poster session is also planned.
