There has been considerable progress in developing early warnings for single hazards. However, the complexities of applying early warning for systemic risk remains less understood. This webinar explores some of the complexities of communicating early warnings for systemic risk and cascading hazards. We will have presentations from Amy Polen (USF) and Nadia Bloemendaal (VU Amsterdam) on the complexity of severity scales for systemic risk and Marc van den Homberg (Red Cross 510) on bridging the last mile in community early warning systems. This is the first in a monthly series of Risk KAN webinars on systemic risk.
