This webinar seeks to deepen the collective understanding of the implications on water and food security globally and find robust solutions given the deep uncertainty surrounding the COVID 19 pandemic. This webinar will explore the following questions:

  • Given the disruption in food imports and exports, how might water allocations shift towards more focus on national and/or local food self-sufficiency?
  • If emphasis is given to food self-sufficiency with increased allocations for agriculture, what will be the impacts on other sectors? Who potentially wins and loses?
  • Can water for sanitation and hygiene (WASH) get renewed investment in order to provide all people with access to clean water for handwashing, to reduce the spread of COVID 19 and other waterborne diseases?
  • What is the role and/or potential of more inclusive water interventions to allow the most vulnerable gain more water-related income potential though local markets

This event will take place at 9:00 PDT (California).
