Workshop on Community Based Disaster Risk Management
Institutionalising sustainable Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) is one of the community-based key strategies to prepare for hazards and respond to disasters which can be sustained for a long time, and becomes a practice for other related institutions. It focuses on reducing the human impact on natural hazards with support from local civil society, communities, households and individuals, to become less vulnerable. Thus, preparedness can be done by strengthening their capacity to anticipate and cope with disasters.
