The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction invites Official Statements from Heads of Delegations - deadline extended

The Second Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction invites Official Statements from Heads of Delegation. Opening Statements, Global and Regional Perspectives and Country Statements will appear by alphabetical order and will be published by the end of the same day of delivery each day.

Official Statements of three minutes maximum can be delivered on the first three days of the conference mornings and afternoons. All delegations are requested to submit a written statement.

The deadline for registering for written Official Statements has been extended. Requests for submitting written statements will be accepted until this Friday, 12 June 2009.

Delegations interested in delivering a written Official Statement should register on-line by following the instructions received by email; if you did not receive an email, please register your request by email: globalplatform@un.org or fax: +41 22 9178964.

Requests to deliver an oral statement may still be received, but delivery is contingent upon available slots in the schedule. Notifications of any vacancies will be sent directly to the requesting delegation.

The speaking order for Official Statements will be announced on this website on Friday, 12 June 2009.
