Description

The Centre for Natural Diasaster Science (CDNS) is a strategic initiative commissioned by the Swedish Government. This meeting will constitute the International Advisory Group (IAG) and define its agenda. CNDS is devoted to basic inter- and cross-disciplinary research as outlined by the integrated research on disaster risk research programme (IRDR) and the scientific and technical committee of the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR).

The Centre is committed to integrate high-quality research in dialogue with societal and industrial actors with the aim to increase knowledge exchange and collaboration between academia, DRR practitioners and decision makers. The IAG will discuss the strategic challenges and ways to overcome the many obstacles to problem-oriented research in a disciplinary academic environment.
