Consultations have been taking place at local, regional and international levels to seek to establish a clear set of civil society recommendations that will help the development of a post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction (HFA2) that has impact at the local level. This session provides an opportunity to share the outputs from consultations so far – particularly the Views from the Frontline research and associated consultations - and also to learn more about the process and progress of the HFA2 Advisory Group from a civil society perspective.
Session objectives are:
• Explore opportunities for civil society during the Fourth Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction
• Share the post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction (HFA2) process and progress from a civil society perspective
• Share civil society messages and recommendations established from consultations so far
• Provide an opportunity for questions, challenges, inputs and further ideas
Expected Outcomes
• Greater clarity on opportunities for civil society involvement and influence during the Fourth Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction
• A set of recommendations to support the post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction (HFA2) development work that is taking place
