This national climate change adaptation plan aims to prevent and limit the negative consequences of climate change on development in the medium and long-term in Togo. It builds on the 2009 National Adaptation Programme for Action (NAPA).

Forecast-based financing from the Togolese Red Cross enabled quick response when heavy monsoon rains threatened villages downstream from the Nangbeto dam. Through close monitoring of discharge rates and water-levels at the dam, high-risk villages could be identified.
