Adapting to Climate Change in China (ACCC) ran a competition in Shanghai to come up with new ideas of how to communicate the risks of climate change and how people can adapt. Over 100 entrepreneurs, creatives, innovators, programmers and techie wizards gathered to share their world-changing ideas for adaptation. This competition was the first of its kind in China.

After a successful workshop with the innovation and entrepreneur community in Shanghai, the winning concepts were turned into two smartphone apps to build awareness of climate impacts in China. The smartphone apps project shows how public private partnerships can be a key tool in communicating important messages and information around climate change. It also explores new ways to maximize risk communication.

WeatherNurse helps chronic asthma sufferers to manage their weather-sensitive condition as climate extremes become more frequent and intense.

Nostalgia is a community to help the huge number of people in China living away from home stay in the loop with how their hometown is changing and learn how they can help as the climate changes.

Adapting to Climate Change in China is a research policy project, supporting China's response to the impacts of climate change.
