ASEAN, UN and World Bank to collaborate in reducing disaster risk

The United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UN-ISDR), with the World Bank and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) announced a joint cooperation, during the Bali Disaster Risk Reduction Forum.

According to the Philippine newspaper Philstar, the agreement has the goal to strengthen disaster risk reduction and disaster management in the region by building capacity in the areas of DRR and climate change adaptation, and mobilizing resources for the implementation of DRR initiatives in the ASEAN, among others.
