Australia: Insurer attacks lack of flood mapping

Insurance Australia Group (IAG) blames the poor national database for their inability to provide flood cover, which caused many home owners to be without cover when floods swept across Queensland and parts of Victoria recently: "Flood mapping is a national infrastructure responsibility," and it is difficult for insurers to price for risk without accurate data, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.
