Australia: Western Downs Regional Council probes flood management measures

As part of the flood management strategies it is examining, the Australian Western Downs Regional Council has commissioned a natural disaster risk assessment to study flood models, disaster response and mitigation strategies, reports ABC. "That'll be to identify the risks and help prioritise and implement the mitigation strategies and that will be funded through the NDRP [Natural Disaster Resilience Program]," said Acting corporate services general manager Ian Stevenson.
