Bangladesh: Children most vulnerable group to disaster risk

The author, Asaduzzaman Rassel, analyzes the impact of disaster on children's lives, as well as their involvement in disaster risk reduction activities. He reports that 47 percent of the total population in Bangladesh are children. Disaster not only kills children, but disrupts their households and learning centers, injuring them physically and mentally.

In past decades, many projects have been implemented in Bangladesh, led by NGOs and other organizations, to make children aware of disaster risk and involve them in disater risk reduction plans as active citizens.
