Mock drills were carried out in two of the capital's schools to prepare students and teachers for the eventuality of an earthquake.

'Bhutan is one of the seismically active regions in the world and education and awareness on disaster management and preparedness in school was crucial' said Mahesh Nakarmi, emergency management expert.
