Call for abstracts: Sociology of disasters

The Research Committee-39 (Sociology of Disasters) will offer a lot of sessions during the XX ISA World Forum of Sociology. There is a wide array of presentation opportunities on a variety of timely topics such as:

  • Women practitioners in emergencies
  • Business community resilience and livelihoods
  • Coping with extreme weather and compound disasters
  • Emergency services and response to disasters
  • Decolonizing disasters in the global south
  • Displacement and migration
  • Crime
  • Cultural heritage
  • Health/COVID-19
  • LBGTQ+, and more!

Paper abstracts can be submitted to the ISA website until 30 September 2022 here.
