The Gender Action Plan to support implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 (Sendai GAP) has been launched on 18 March 2024.

The Sendai GAP, indicating 9 key objectives and 33 recommended actions, aims to accelerate progress towards the mutually reinforcing goals of gender equality and the prevention and reduction of disaster risk by ensuring DRR efforts are gender-responsive, and promote and support women’s empowerment and leadership.

Stakeholders working on DRR and gender issues are encouraged to submit their initiatives and achievements as voluntary commitments here in the SFVC online platform by specifying “Sendai GAP” under an umbrella initiative. UNDRR captures partner contributions and support monitoring and reporting of Sendai GAP implementation by non-governmental actors.
