Mark McPeak, in an opinion piece on Devex, writes about ChildFund's participation as part of the “Children in a Changing Climate” coalition at the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reducation in Sendai, Japan. Their main objective, he writes, was to make the case that children and young people should be seen as agents of change in any new DRR framework.

He writes that, on balance, the Sendai Framework is good for children and youth, and certainly better than a failure to agree would have been. He reminds the development community to hope for even stronger action in Addis Ababa, New York and Paris, with binding targets and clear financial commitments.
