China releases climate change report

In advance of the UN Climate Change Conference in Doha, Qatar, China has released its China’s Policies and Actions for Addressing Climate Change report which gives an overview of the extreme weather and climate events of 2011 in China. According to the report, 430 million people were affected by 'natural disasters' in the country and economic losses amounted to 309.6 billion yuan (US$49.6 billion), reports Asian Scientist.
